Description from Amazon:
True heroes who will win your heart.

Honor, duty, courage, passion . . . the men of the Navy SEALs are a special breed of hero, and in these stories by eighteen top romance authors the SEALs are celebrated not only as symbols of devoted service to their country but as the kind of man every woman wants to love. They’ll rescue a damsel in distress and her lap dog, too. They’ll battle hometown dramas and international bad guys. When it comes to giving away their hearts, they’ll risk everything.

All proceeds from sales of SEAL of My Dreams goes to the Veterans Research Corporation, a non-profit fundraiser for veterans’ medical research.

Among them, the authors of SEAL of My Dreams have won dozens of writing awards including multiple RITAs from Romance Writers of America. Their nearly 600 published novels have sold at least 25 million copies worldwide. The SEAL of My Dreams roster includes many of the best-known authors in modern romance fiction. In addition, many have strong family connections to the servicemen and women of our nation’s military, and many specialize in novels featuring heroes and heroines from all branches of service. What I really loved about this book is how the authors cast the Navy SEAL’s in a wonderful light. All the authors gave us a certain idea as to what they go through and how hard it is for them to be away from family. Even though the SEAL’s are their own band of brothers and they love each other as such they miss their family. As much as I loved this Anthology and hated to see it end I know it will stick with me for a while to come and I’ll cherish it forever because it gave me a new respect to all the people that serve our country. For that I want to thank everyone that’s ever served our country. Thank you all for your service!

In Honor by Jessi Kirby
Publication Date: May 8th
From Amazon:
A devastating loss leads to an unexpected road trip in this novel from the author of Moonglass, whose voice Sarah Dessen says “is fresh and wise, all at once.”Hours after her brother’s military funeral, Honor opens the last letter Finn ever sent. In her grief, she interprets his note as a final request and spontaneously decides to go to California to fulfill it.     Honor gets as far as the driveway before running into Rusty, Finn’s best friend since third grade and his polar opposite. She hasn’t seen Rusty in ages, but it’s obvious he is as arrogant and stubborn as ever—not to mention drop-dead gorgeous. Despite Honor’s better judgment, the two set off together on a voyage from Texas to California. Along the way, they find small and sometimes surprising ways to ease their shared loss and honor Finn’s memory—but when shocking truths are revealed at the end of the road, will either of them be able to cope with the consequences?

Review: Barefoot Season by Susan Mallery

Barefoot Season
A Blackberry Island Novel
Author: Susan Mallery
Reading Level: Adult
Release: Date: March 27th
Review Source: NetGalley

Description from Goodreads:
Michelle Sanderson may appear to be a strong, independent woman, but on the inside, she’s still the wounded girl who fled home years ago. A young army vet, Michelle returns to the quaint Blackberry Island Inn to claim her inheritance and recover from the perils of war. Instead, she finds the owner’s suite occupied by the last person she wants to see.

Carly Williams and Michelle were once inseparable, until a shocking betrayal destroyed their friendship. And now Carly is implicated in the financial disaster lurking behind the inn’s cheerful veneer.

Single mother Carly has weathered rumors, lies and secrets for a lifetime, and is finally starting to move forward with love and life. But if the Blackberry Island Inn goes under, Carly and her daughter will go with it.

To save their livelihoods, Carly and Michelle will undertake a turbulent truce. It’ll take more than a successful season to move beyond their devastating past, but with a little luck and a beautiful summer, they may just rediscover the friendship of a lifetime.

Barefoot Season is a wonderful book. At first the book was slow then it started picking up. I cried while reading this book a few times because at some points it’s sad at at others I was laughing out loud.

I really liked Gabby Clary’s daughter she was so sweet and always full of energy! This book is about finding oneself and freeing yourself from the past and learning to move on and finding love along the way.

Review: Brightest Kind of Darkness by P.T. Michelle

2 Feb

Format- Kindle Edition

Product Description

Nara Collins is an average sixteen-year-old, with one exception: every night she dreams the events of the following day. Due to an incident in her past, Nara avoids using her special gift to change fate…until she dreams a future she can’t ignore.

After Nara prevents a bombing at Blue Ridge High, her ability to see the future starts to fade, while people at school are suddenly being injured at an unusually high rate.

Grappling with her diminishing powers and the need to prevent another disaster, Nara meets Ethan Harris, a mysterious loner who seems to understand her better than anyone. Ethan and Nara forge an irresistible connection, but as their relationship heats up, so do her questions about his dark past.

Author’s note: Brightest Kind of Darkness is a dark paranormal novel length YA full of mystery, adventure, romance, and even a touch of horror. It’s best suited for ages 14 and up.

Once we’d stowed my stuff in the back of my car, Ethan opened the car door and waited for me to get in. Even though I wanted to ask him so many questions, I was afraid to speak. It felt like we’d moved to a whole new level in our friendship, but I wasn’t sure what that level was.

Every nerve ending urged me to hug him, to show my appreciation, but I was unsure. Would he pull away? I didn’t need any more rejection in my life. “Thank you for being there,” I said in an unsteady voice.

Ethan clasped my wrist and pulled me into his arms, holding me close. “I’ll always be here for you.”

I shuddered against his chest, mumbling into his flannel shirt. “You weren’t at school and I didn’t see you after practice. I thought for sure no one would hear me scream when those guys finally got their hands on–“

Warm fingers tilted my chin up. “I had something to do today, but I’d never leave you hanging. When I saw your stuff on the field and then I heard a guy yelling, ‘She went this way,’ in the woods…” he paused, tensing. “I freaked.”

“You got to me just in time.” I tried to smile but my lips trembled. “Who knew knights wore flannel shirts and Led Zeppelin tees?” I knew I sounded like a goof, but I didn’t care. I wanted him to know how much his rescue meant to me.

Ethan leaned close and I closed my eyes as he lightly kissed my cheekbone, then my forehead. He had no idea that his gentle kiss had melted something inside me, how much I craved the physical connection. His warm lips lingered against my skin for a second before he took a step back and shoved his hands in his jean pockets.

“I’m no hero, Nara.” His gaze narrowed briefly toward the woods. “Go home. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

From the Author

Brightest Kind of Darkness is the first book in the Brightest Kind of Darkness series.

The story follows Nara Collins, a sixteen year old girl, who dreams the events of the following day…..every night. Knowing what will happen the next day does have its advances, especially when Nara can aces tests and save every goal for her Soccer team. But things soon turn nasty when Nara prevents a bombing at her High School, she loses her ability to see the future and people at school are suddenly being injured.

When Nara comes across Ethan, the school loner and outcast, Nara can’t help feel drawn to him especially with him being the only person who seems to understand her. As Nara and Ethan develop a friendship, sparks soon start flying but what they’re not prepared for, is the danger that is a suddenly surrounding them due to the connection they have. Soon they find out that Fate is real and can they stop people getting hurt without getting hurt in the process?

I absolutely loved this book I could barely put it down. It had me guessing and wondering until the end. Just when you think that you have something figured out though BAM P.T. Michelle throws you a curve ball. This book is amazingly well written and will keep you on your toes till the very end.

This book is action-packed, exciting, and intensley mysterious. BRIGHTEST KIND OF DARKNESS is an absolutely fantastic book if you love paranormal romance.

Review The Texas Ranger by Diana Palmer

2 Feb

Details: paperback 384 pages

Product Description:

When Texas Ranger Marc Brannon returns to the line of duty, a high-profile murder mystery pits him against the vibrant—and vulnerable—junior investigator from his past. Years ago, Josette Langley made no secret of the fact that she was desperately in love with the rugged lawman, and despite their differences, the rough-hewn loner became drawn to the innocent young woman. Yet Marc and Josette parted on explosive terms when she made a shocking accusation that shattered both their lives. Now they are back together again…. And this time a lot more is at stake than just their hearts. For the woman Marc cherished is being targeted by a corrupt political figure who will stop at nothing to bury the truth. Can Marc and Josette set aside their stormy discord and see justice served? Or will they both be caught in the cross fire…? “Diana Palmer provides her myriad of romance fans with a stirring story.

Okay to tell the truth I didn’t really like this book at all. I could guess everything that was going to happen everything was just to predictable. Diana Palmer dropped way to many clues so it really wasn’t hard to figure out who the killer was. Another thing Josette needing surgery to be intimate its just a little to much you’ll know why if you have read the book or did read it. I could barely stay interested in the book at all. This book was a real disappointment to me.
